| St Anne’s Long Day Care Centre |
The St Francis Xavier Parish of Ballina has taken a very exciting step by initiating the provision of a new Long Day Care Centre for the community. The Centre has very appropriately been named after the mother of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the grandmother of Jesus. It is located in Carroll Avenue Skennar’s Head and is a neighbour to Holy Family Catholic Primary School and Xavier Catholic College. It is anticipated that the Centre will be ready to start functioning early in January 2010.
As for all long day care centres, St Anne’s will be licensed by the Department of Community Services under the Children’s Services Regulation 2004 and will comply with accreditation requirements to ensure approval to receive Child Care Benefit on behalf of families using the centre.
St Anne’s will enroll children aged from six weeks to six years, will be open from Monday to Friday for at least 8 hrs each day, and for a minimum of 48 weeks each year.
The beautiful modern environment, with five playrooms for age-grouping the children, is currently being completed. The early childhood educative programmes that will be developed by the teachers and carers responsive to the children in their care will support and enhance the children’s positive growth and development.
Early childhood is a vital period in children’s learning and development and accordingly, St Anne’s Long Day Care Centre will position itself as privileged to participate in the care and education of a family’s child through this time.
Please call in or telephone the Parish Administration Centre, between Saint Francis Xavier Primary School and the Church, for a Waiting List Information sheet and Form - Phone 6687 5961.
Kind regards Narelle Dewhurst. St Anne’s Long Day Care Centre Director.
